Wawan told me that I got to write about this band if I’m ever starting this Music column. Well, so here it is! The first band ever to be featured in TVT.
The first time I heard of this band is from the new Need For Speed game (which my computer is too slow to play now). The game used one of Avenged Sevenfold singles ‘Almost easy‘, which is indeed a very metal song with strong vocal and good guitar riffs.
The band was famous after the success of their 2005 album called City of Evils. The band got its name from a reference to the Book of Genesis where Cain is sentenced to live in exile for murdering his brother. God marked him so that no one could kill him on account of his sin. The man who dared to kill Cain would suffer ‘vengeance for 7 times over’, and thus the band name of Avenged Sevenfold.
According to Wawan, their performance on stage is as exactly like how you listen to them from the cd. Anybody who is interested in witnessing it can get the DVD from Wawan.
The current members of the band are:
M. Shadows – Lead Vocal
Synyster Gates – Lead Guitar
Zacky Vengeance – Rhythm Guitar
Johnny Christ – Bass
The Rev – Drums
The self titled album would contain 10 songs
1. “Critical Acclaim” – 5:15
2. “Almost Easy” – 3:53
3. “Scream” – 4:48
4. “Afterlife” – 5:53
5. “Gunslinger” – 4:11
6. “Unbound (The Wild Ride)” – 5:11
7. “Brompton Cocktail” – 4:13
8. “Lost” – 5:02
9. “A Little Piece of Heaven” – 8:00
10. “Dear God” – 6:34

Could you give more details? Like what kind of genre is it – obviously rock but what kind: emo, punk, hard, heavy metal or what. How’s the music like? The lyrics? What sets it apart from the other bands of its genre?

No la, your Bullet for My Valentine review was good. You lined out why you liked the band, compared it to another, even a bit of the history. Plus, that cool lyrics quote is just godly.
To be honest, minus the track and band member listings, the only real info you gave about the band is where the name came from.
Let me share a secret: genres confuse the hell out of me too. That’s what Wiki is for, hoho.
